![]() At high MMR this won't be the case but for the majority it is. If you don't have any split pushers and you're deciding to go 5v4 on an objective, know that many players forget to be a bit more defensive when playing with TLV on their team. This is often easier to do with Vikings than other heroes due to the player being split between three heroes, and each having relatively low health. Likewise if you know an objective is about to come up it is a good time to possibly gank or kill a Viking if you can do this safely, as this will leave them down a lane or two for some of the objective. If you have anyone who can split push/soak well they should ignore early game objectives (so it will be 4v4) and they should soak two lanes meaning TLV don't give too much of an xp lead. ![]() What do you do, do you ignore them or soak yourselfs? One of the huge issues comes from objectives. If they took longboat raid, it may be advisable to focus TLV as killing the boat will stun them, allowing you to finish them off if you have enough AOE. Always try to make sure that enemy TLV players are doing as much work as possible in the early game.įor the late game, beware play again - it will bring back the vikings with a vengeance and makes them much more disposable distractions. ![]() Remember that the downside to TLV is that you have to control three different heroes - when you pressure every viking in every lane, you are making that TLV player do a lot of work. This way, if the vikings want to make the most of themselves, they need to be constantly monitoring each viking. Do not push your lane because behind a gate is the easiest place for a viking to get their soak off - just simply sit and be content to soak in the XP as the enemy minions casually kill your guys off. Always double-check bushes and places out of vision (CAREFULLY!). If you're against a TLV player, don't waste time killing the lane minions - force the enemy viking out of the lane (or kill them). Furthermore, when minion waves are closer to your base than the enemy's, TLV will have to keep their viking closer to your fort, which makes recovering them from a bad situation much harder.įinally, and perhaps most importantly, ALWAYS FORCE THE VIKING OUT. This is especially true for QM where you can't rely on teammates to call out rotations, and if they manage to get a level lead it will be even harder to survive.īy letting the enemy push the lane, you can safely soak your XP behind your gate in the event they come out and try to gank you. When you push the lanes, you'll be extending yourself out, and, as I said before, your team should be soaking all the lanes, so you'll be super vulnerable to a 4-man gank. If you find the enemy team is in a 4 man gank squad, my suggestion is to NOT PUSH LANES. If your team can manage to offset the TLV advantage by maintaining your lanes, you've effectively rendered them useless for the entire early game. It's already important to make sure you never leave a lane open, but against TLV, it's even moreso - because they're probably always soaking it. Honestly, barring a nova or zeratul who can easily hunt vikings, the best bet to fight against them is to make sure you are constantly soaking. So the biggest problem I've encountered as a TLV player is when the enemy team knows how to counter-soak.
